Drake Bay Night Tour
At Drake Bay Getaway, we understand the importance of having peace of mind during your vacation. That's why we have partnered with Nativos Corcovado to offer an adventure that will take you deep into the heart of nature at night, so you can relax and enjoy your adventure without worrying about the details.
This night tour is unlike any other in the area, as it is run by a local family that has lived in Drake Bay for generations. They know the secrets of the rainforest and its nocturnal inhabitants, and they will share them with you on this unforgettable experience.
The Nativos Corcovado's Night Tour starts at 7:00 pm from our hotel, where you will meet your guide and get ready for the adventure. You will be provided with rubber boots and a headlamp to help you navigate the trails. You will then hop on a 4x4 vehicle and drive to the starting point of the tour, about 10 minutes away.
The tour lasts about two and a half hours, during which you will walk through different habitats, such as primary forest, secondary forest, riverbanks, and open fields. You will walk through some rivers, so be prepared to get your feet wet! Along the way, your guide will point out various animals and plants that are active at night, such as frogs, snakes, spiders, insects, bats, owls, sloths, kinkajous, armadillos, and more. You will learn about their behavior, adaptations, ecology, and conservation.
This Night Tour is not only educational but also fun and thrilling. You never know what you might encounter in the dark! Your guide will also tell you stories and legends about the rainforest and its creatures that have been passed down from their ancestors. You will feel like you are part of their family as they share their passion and love for nature with you.
