Tour Details

We organize the Caño Island Snorkeling Tour for you, so you can have peace of mind during your stay at Drake Bay Getaway.

Caño Island Biological Reserve, about 10 miles off the coast of Drake Bay (Bahía Drake), is the peak of an underwater mountain range in the southern pacific coast of Costa Rica. The white sandy beaches encircle a wild jungle ofstrangler figs, ferns, cocoa, and trumpet and milk trees. The turquoise blue water is home to 600 acres of protected marine life.

Snorkelling trips to Caño Island are one of the most popular Drake Bay tours. The calm, warm water is home to many sting rays, sea turtles, dolphins, sharks and huge schools of tropical fish. Even for the snorkelling beginner, this tour offers the chance to get up close to an incredible variety of wildlife. The Caño Island Biological Reserve also has over 15 species of corals and impressive underwater rock formations to explore. This tour includes snorkelling in two different spots in the Caño Island Biological Reserve.

During this tour, you will have the chance to see some critically endangered wildlife including humpback whales, rough-toothed and spotted dolphins and Bryde's whales.
