Térraba-Sierpe mangrove forest park is home to herons, egrets, cotingas, and osprey. It is also an excellent place for spotting sloth, agouti, river otters, caimans, crocodiles and tree boas. The tour includes a stop at Bird Island which has both nesting and frigate birds in abundance.

Over 50 species of fish swim in these waters and you might even see local families engaged in artisanal fishing or clam harvesting.
